About us
IN THE BEGINNING…
In 2003 Blue Spot was setup by founder Guy Brittain, in his mum and dad’s dining room!
After working as an auto electrician by day, and helping local residents of Congleton with their IT issues by night, Guy decided that it was about time he gave up his day job to pursue his passion of computers.
Guy started off setting up websites for small businesses in Congleton and Macclesfield whilst offering new computer builds and support for personal customers.
2007
By now we had undergone many changes as a company, purchasing the first van in 2005, we had been on the road supporting personal customers in Cheshire with their IT issues and were settling into a unit in Havannah Street, Congleton.
2006/7 was a particularly exciting time as we became the main distributor for a national component/hardware supplier’s return stock, we were responsible for sorting and selling return graded stock and worked our way through over 30 pallets of stock per week!
2012
By now we had been supporting business customers with maintenance support packages for over 4 years and helping personal customers with their IT issues for 9! We had made the move from distributing return stock for our UK based supplier to focus all of our efforts on providing IT support.
2012 also saw us relocate to Martin’s Court in Congleton, an office based location which still serves as HQ both our personal customer workshop and for our remote and on-site engineers.
2017
After working at Blue Spot for many years, Dan joined as a partner in early 2017. With renewed energy and focus we invested heavily in marketing and in our awesome team of engineers who work tirelessly to support our customers. We underwent a full re-brand in late 2017 introducing our new ‘more simplistic’ logo layout and colour scheme which is now in place on all of our uniforms, vans and digital platforms.
2018 AND BEYOND!
An exciting start to 2018 has seen us nominated for several business awards for our first time, Business of the year, Customer service provider of the year and Growth Awards.
As an ever forward-thinking company we are excited for what the future holds and for the relationships we can build and develop with our expanding client base. For us it’s all about providing that helpful support base and growing with our customers. We pride ourselves on keeping that keen, excited, happy to help mentality that Blue Spot was founded with by Guy back in 2003.

Guy started Blue Spot Computers back in 2003. Driven to succeed by his unbridled passion for model trains and his love of F1, Guy makes sure business is always fast, competitive and on track.

Blue Spot Computers have always provided a fantastic and friendly service- whenever we have raised an issue it has always been dealt with promptly and efficiently to ensure minimum disruption to the running of our business, without blinding us with ‘technical jargon’. In particular, when we transferred from Sage 50 to Sage 200, Blue Spot worked carefully with the external Sage suppliers and took care of setting up the new server and software so that the transition between the two systems was smooth and that no data was lost in the process.
